How to Ship Catalytic Converters to CatsPlus: A Step-by-Step Guide
Shipping catalytic converters can be a challenge, especially if you’re not familiar with the process. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to help you ship catalytic converters quickly and easily.
SHIPPING TERMS
CatsPlus Converters has the following payment terms in regard to shipping costs.
• 1-199 cats: The customer covers the cost of shipping.
• 200+ cats: Shipping is FREE within the continental U.S.
STEP 1: Connect with the buyer Before you start shipping, make sure to confirm the shipment details with CatsPlus. This includes the quantity, price, the destination, the shipping method, and any other requirements. If shipping 200+ catalytic converters, CatsPlus will set a pickup date and email you a bill of lading (which will need to be affixed to each box, as detailed below)
Step 2: Cut the catalytic converter down (Optional) To make the catalytic converter units easier to ship, cut or trim them down to a smaller size by using a reciprocating saw or angle grinder to remove excess pipe. Be careful not to damage the contents or any of the components, such as the shield and/or pipe that contains the OEM number or identifying code. The OEM number and/or identifying code is necessary for the verification purposes. *PLEASE NOTE: Do not remove the ceramic material from the catalytic converter unit, as you will be paid the standard price for loose ceramic honeycomb material rather than the value based on the OEM number or identifying code. It’s important to keep the entire catalytic converter intact, including the ceramic material inside. Removing or altering the contents can make it difficult to identify and verify the part, which can delay or affect payment.
Step 3: Load the catalytic converter units into a gaylord box Place the catalytic converter units into a gaylord box or other container on top of a standard wooden or plastic pallet. The truck picking up the shipment will need to load the box using a forklift or pallet jack.
Step 4: Include the quote paper inside of the box Don’t forget to include the quote paper, invoice or any other necessary documentation inside the box. This will help the buyer identify and process the part more quickly.
Step 5: Secure the box with tape and black plastic Wrap the box in black plastic and seal it with plenty of tape to ensure that it stays closed during shipping. The black plastic will prevent anyone from knowing that you are shipping catalytic converters.
Step 6: Affix the bill of lading, label and quote number to the outside of the box Label the box with a reference or quote number provided by the buyer. This will help them identify and match the units with the correct transaction and payment information. Attach the shipping label provided by CatsPlus to the outside of the box on the exterior of the black plastic. This will ensure the shipping costs are covered and the shipment is processed quickly and efficiently. After the box is prepared, contact the buyer to schedule a truck pick up or dock drop-off. It’s important to note that the truck will likely not have a lift gate, so you’ll need to have a forklift or pallet jack on hand to load the box onto the truck. By taking these extra steps, you can help ensure that your catalytic converters arrive safely and securely at their destination.
Step 7: Ship the package After you have carefully packed and secured the catalytic converters, it’s time to ship it to CatsPlus. Ready to Ship? Shipping catalytic converters can be a simple and straightforward process if you follow these steps. By taking the time to prepare the parts correctly and communicate effectively with your buyer, you can ensure a smooth and successful transaction.
